Case Study: Mercedes-Benz Transport Magazine
Brief: Pan European news
and information about Mercedes Benz transport products is issued
to that company’s customers four times a year via a customer
magazine. Working in association with PR Hamburg of Germany, the
magazine’s producers, Kestrel writes the UK edition of the
Mercedes Benz Transport magazine.
Activity: Producing news
and features about transport related issues and Mercedes Benz
vehicles requires a working knowledge of the transport industry
and an appreciation of the issues facing companies that work within
this large and competitive sector – from freight forwarders
to the emergency services, public transport operators and international
couriers. Kestrel’s publications team is able to identify
news and feature ideas, undertake interviews, organise photography,
research, write and edit copy thus ensuring relevant and newsworthy
material for the publication.
Results: The credibility
of the client and its publication is enhanced through an approach
to reporting that deals with issues experienced in everyday life
by customers of the company’s products. This aids the client
in its relationship with its customers as it is seen to be providing
relevant news, advice and feature information of genuine interest
rather than simply using the magazine as a ‘puff’
for its own products.
