Case Study: Sainsbury's Supermarkets
Brief: Sainsbury's needed
to communicate a new company initiative to the entire staff (40,000
people in over 400 stores and support offices). The project had
to be completed within five weeks of the initial brief.
Activity: Kestrel staged
five major presentations run over four consecutive days with 1,400
staff in attendance at each event. Each comprised formal presentations,
followed by an Ideal Home style exhibition, which allowed staff
to sample new products. Attendees were given material to take
back to stores to ensure that the message was cascaded. Special
newspapers were printed and a programme was produced for the company's
internal TV station.
Results: Success was twofold.
Firstly, a large number of store staff and head office personnel
were able to witness how serious the company was about change.
Secondly, it allowed them to take the quality message –
and enthusiasm – back to their colleagues.
